Overview

O’Hagan Meyer’s Downtown Los Angeles office, launched as part of the firm’s California expansion in 2023, is one of the larger offices and serves as a central hub for the firm’s California Employment Counseling & Litigation practice. The office is comprised of an extensive team of partners, senior counsel, and associates with substantial experience defending employers in single-plaintiff, multi-plaintiff, class, and representative actions, including wage and hour class actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) matters. Downtown Los Angeles attorneys regularly litigate in California state courts, the U.S. District Courts throughout California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and frequently represent clients before state and federal administrative agencies.

The Downtown Los Angeles office’s practice reflects the breadth and complexity of employment-related issues faced by California employers. The team represents businesses across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, hospitality, technology, manufacturing, transportation, professional services, financial services, education, nonprofit and religious organizations, and public entities. In addition to litigation, attorneys in the office provide comprehensive advice and counseling on employment compliance, wage and hour practices, employee classification, leaves and accommodations, workplace investigations, reductions in force, policy drafting, and training. Several attorneys also bring highly specialized experience in areas such as Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance and defense, accessibility litigation, civil rights claims, trade secrets and restrictive covenants, consumer and products liability matters, and appellate advocacy.

The Downtown Los Angeles attorneys are licensed across multiple jurisdictions and regularly coordinate with colleagues in the firm’s other offices in matters that call for coordinated, multijurisdictional defense. With a combination of scale, depth, and subject-matter concentration, the Downtown Los Angeles office delivers practical, disciplined, and trial-ready representation while remaining closely attuned to the nuances of California-specific law and procedure.
