Overview
Krikor Moloyan defends employers against wage and hour class actions and PAGA claims. His experience also extends to advising on the operational complexities of higher education institutions and nonprofit organizations. These clients face unique compliance challenges that don't fit neatly into standard employment frameworks, and Krikor understands how academic calendars, grant-funded positions, and mission-driven work cultures create wage and hour vulnerabilities that require tailored defense strategies. His dual focus on litigation and institutional counseling means that on many occasions, he can solve problems before they become lawsuits.
In addition to his work with educational institutions, Krikor serves as a trusted advisor to employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters. He regularly counsels clients—including restaurants, hospitality groups, and hotels—on employee classification, wage and hour compliance, workplace policies, and risk mitigation strategies. Acting as outside general counsel, he helps business leaders navigate day-to-day employment decisions while aligning legal strategy with operational realities. His understanding of how organizations function enables him to deliver practical guidance that prevents disputes and strengthens compliance across the workforce.
Krikor's approach to problem-solving and litigation is manifest in his ability to counsel clients in ways that reduce litigation risk without disrupting how they function. Nonprofits and educational institutions often operate with constrained budgets and complex staffing models that make cookie-cutter compliance advice useless. He provides guidance that accounts for these constraints while still protecting against exposure. When litigation does arise, he's prepared to defend practices that make sense within the client's operational context, even when plaintiffs' counsel tries to force those practices into ill-fitting legal theories. His clients get representation that understands their world, not just the statutes.
