Yahir Barragan is Of Counsel at O’Hagan Meyer and a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment, Intellectual Property, and Sports, Entertainment and Media practice groups. Yahir brings a strong background in litigation, counseling, and trial advocacy, helping clients navigate complex legal challenges while advancing their business objectives. He has represented clients in matters before both state and federal courts and has experience managing disputes through all stages of litigation
Yahir’s practice focuses primarily on defending employers in complex workplace litigation, including claims for harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, unfair business practices, and wage and hour disputes. Yahir counsels organizations navigating evolving employment laws and regulatory requirements. By partnering closely with organizations to develop effective workplace policies and practices, he aims minimize his client’s litigation risk and exposure to address potential issues before they develop into costly disputes.
An avid music and film enthusiast, Yahir also represents clients with intellectual property matters. He advises clients on trademark, copyright, and brand protection matters, drawing on prior experience handling intellectual property, business, and commercial disputes. His multidisciplinary experience allows him to provide practical, business-oriented counsel tailored to each client’s unique goals.
During law school, Yahir was a member of his school’s Moot Court and Negotiation teams. He competed in the American Bar Association’s Negotiation Competition, winning the west coast region and ranking third in the nation.
