Overview

Overview

Founded in 2016, O’Hagan Meyer’s Richmond, Virginia office is one of the firm’s largest locations and plays a key role in the firm’s litigation and trial work. The office brings together a substantial team of partners, of counsel, and associates whose work consistently focuses on labor and employment defense, commercial and business litigation, professional liability, class and collective actions, directors and officers litigation, insurance coverage, appellate advocacy, construction and architects and engineers matters, healthcare and medical malpractice defense, consumer financial services litigation, and intellectual property and trade secrets. Richmond attorneys regularly litigate matters in Virginia state courts and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Several attorneys in the office are also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and other federal appellate courts, reflecting the depth of this team’s appellate and trial experience.

Operating from the heart of Virginia’s capital and commercial center, the Richmond office advises and defends clients across a wide range of industries shaped by the region’s regulatory, corporate, and institutional landscape. The team regularly represents employers, financial institutions, healthcare providers, higher education institutions, construction and design professionals, transportation and logistics companies, real estate and community associations, technology companies, and professional services firms. In addition to their litigation practices, Richmond attorneys are deeply involved in the community and the profession, with leadership roles in bar associations, legal aid organizations, civic boards, and charitable institutions. They also have a strong record of speaking and writing on emerging legal and regulatory issues.

The Richmond office serves as a hub for both regional and national clients. Attorneys are licensed in multiple jurisdictions beyond Virginia, including the District of Columbia, New York, Massachusetts, and Tennessee, among others, and they routinely handle matters across state lines in multijurisdictional litigation. The Richmond team works closely with colleagues throughout the firm’s network of offices to deliver coordinated, results-driven defense strategies and consistently effective representation.
