Overview

Overview

Since opening in 2023, the firm’s Portland, Oregon office has assembled a team of experienced attorneys focused on labor and employment matters and sophisticated business litigation. Their work consistently focuses on employer-side labor and employment counseling and defense, wage and hour matters, class and collective actions, restrictive covenants and trade secrets, ERISA and employee benefits litigation, professional liability, construction and commercial litigation, and directors and officers disputes. Attorneys in the Portland office regularly represent clients in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies, including Oregon and Washington state courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries, and the Washington State Human Rights Commission.

The Portland office’s practice reflects the legal needs of industries that are central to the Oregon and more general Pacific Northwest economy. The team’s consistent emphasis on employment compliance, workplace investigations, wage and hour risk management, restrictive covenants, and complex civil litigation aligns with the regulatory environment faced by employers operating in Oregon and Washington. Attorneys in the office are also actively engaged in the local legal and business community, serving in leadership roles and committees with organizations such as the Multnomah Bar Association, Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, and community nonprofit boards, and regularly presenting to HR professionals and business groups on employment law developments and compliance strategies.

Serving as a key Pacific Northwest Hub, the Portland office works particularly closely with the firm’s Seattle office to support clients operating across Oregon, Washington, and the broader West Coast. Many Portland attorneys are licensed in multiple jurisdictions, including Washington and California, amongst others, and they routinely handle matters spanning state lines. This regional integration, combined with collaboration across the firm’s other offices, allows the Portland team to provide coordinated representation for clients with regional and national footprints.
