Overview

Ember DeVaul is an associate attorney in the Portland, Oregon office and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. Her background and experience bring a unique perspective to the group, allowing her to effectively counsel and defend employers in a wide variety of employment law matters.

Prior to law school, Ember worked as a third-party HR Advisor where she helped employers manage high-risk terminations, disability accommodations, leaves of absence, and more. She also partnered with employers to develop compliant workplace policies and provided workplace trainings on various topics, including how to spot and stop harassment in the workplace.

While attending law school, Ember worked at a non-profit law firm where she represented employees in employment law disputes. She then worked at a legal clinic helping new and emerging Oregon businesses with various legal matters, such as choosing the appropriate business structure, drafting employment and partnership agreements, and performing regulatory compliance audits. In addition, Ember served as Lead Article Editor on the Lewis & Clark Law Review and volunteered as a board member for the Public Interest Law Project at Lewis & Clark Law School.

Prior to joining O’Hagan Meyer, Ember worked at a local firm where she represented employers and insurers in various Oregon workers’ compensation matters.
