Overview

Overview

Established in 2019, O’Hagan Meyer’s Detroit, Michigan office provides experienced trial and appellate representation across a range of complex litigation matters. Attorneys in the office bring decades of experience handling commercial and business disputes, labor and employment litigation, professional liability, products liability, premises liability, insurance coverage, and intellectual property-related matters. The Detroit team has substantial experience defending architects, engineers, manufacturers, insurers, and employers, and regularly litigates cases in Michigan state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and federal appellate courts across multiple circuits.

The Detroit office’s practice aligns closely with Midwest industries. The team represents manufacturers, automotive-related businesses, design and construction professionals, insurers, community associations, agribusinesses, and nonprofit organizations in matters involving design defects, catastrophic injury claims, construction disputes, insurance coverage issues, trade secret and unfair competition litigation, and employment-related claims. In addition to trial work, Detroit attorneys are deeply engaged in risk management and pre-litigation strategy, advising clients on contract formation, professional service agreements, and coordinated responses to high-exposure claims, including multistate matters requiring centralized defense oversight.

Attorneys in the office are licensed in multiple jurisdictions in the Midwest and East Coast regions and have extensive experience coordinating complex, multijurisdictional litigation. The Detroit team works closely with colleagues across the firm to ensure consistency of strategy and execution, particularly in matters involving multistate litigation, complex construction projects, and coordinated defense strategies.
