Overview
Elizabeth Del Cid is a seasoned litigator with multi-dimensional experience managing complex civil and criminal cases across diverse jurisdictions, including New York, the Midwest, and California. Her practice encompasses the resolution of high-stakes consumer law disputes, civil rights advocacy, labor and employment matters, sex abuse and molestation cases, and significant financial litigation in both federal and state courts and arbitration forums nationwide. Elizabeth also advises corporate directors, officers, and real estate boards, providing strategic counsel in business and condominium disputes.
From case inception through resolution, Elizabeth leads every phase of litigation with smart judgement and meticulous attention to detail. She crafts compelling pleadings, navigates discovery, and excels in both written and oral advocacy. Her track record includes securing favorable outcomes through dispositive motions and skillfully negotiating settlements. Fluent in English and Spanish, she has prepared and deposed a wide range of witnesses for regulatory, compliance, and court proceedings. Elizabeth’s bilingual skills and cultural insight enable her to effectively leverage complex witness interactions and client communications in multi-jurisdictional matters.
Before joining O’Hagan Meyer, Elizabeth sharpened her trial and appellate skills as a partner at national law firms in New York and California. She has represented clients in class actions, business torts, Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) claims, fraud, bankruptcy, blockchain, securities, and employment disputes. Her experience extends to drafting and enforcing public policy in California. Since 2016, she has served as an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), further demonstrating her expertise in financial services and dispute resolution.
Elizabeth is recognized for her thought leadership and commitment to the legal profession. She frequently speaks and writes on industry topics in both English and Spanish, contributing valuable perspectives to her field. Her professional achievements have earned her a variety of accolades. Elizabeth has served as a pro bono attorney for: the New York Civil Courts Help Desk (2016-2017); undocumented immigrants seeking asylum or employment authorization (2018to Present); West Hollywood LGBT Legal Aid (2009); Project Chrysalis for Battered Women (2005-06); and the Disability Rights/IDEA Special Education Law Program (2016). She also served as a judge for the UCLA Moot Court Competitions (2007-10) and was awarded recognition for law-related public service (2005-06). Elizabeth also worked as an intern for the Office of California Assembly Speaker Robert Hertzberg and Assembly Member Lloyd Levine (2000, 2004). She is an alumna and past Board of Directors member for the L.A. Youth Newspaper (1999-2010).
