Cruz Zavala is an associate attorney in the San Francisco Office of O’Hagan Meyer and is a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. His work as a Labor & Employment attorney includes defending actions in all aspects of pre-trial litigation, including taking and defending depositions, pre-trial motions, discovery, mediation, and arbitration. Prior to joining O’Hagan Meyer, Cruz practiced labor and employment law with a law firm in Los Angeles, CA. With previous representation of Plaintiffs’ in labor and employment disputes, Cruz has garnered extensive experience on both sides of the litigation field in matters relating to workplace discrimination, harassment, and retaliation on state and federal levels. Additionally, Cruz demonstrated exceptional proficiency at a prominent defense litigation firm, where he focused on general litigation, personal injury defense, and municipal litigation further enhancing his legal acumen. Cruz earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Francisco State University. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco, including a certificate in Public Interest Law. During law school, Cruz served as a Development Director for USF Moot Court Board of Directors, where he coached competitors in the National Appellate Advocacy Competition in which competitors participate in a hypothetical appeal to the United States Supreme Court. Cruz also received the Academic Achievement Award and CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Trial Practice: Criminal Law. Cruz is licensed to practice law in the State of California, including the United States Central District and Northern District Federal Courts.
