Overview

Vincent R. Fisher is National Co-Chair of the Class & Collective Actions Practice Group (Wage and Hour) at O’Hagan Meyer. He is considered a thought leader and a masterful wage-and-hour litigator. Mr. Fisher has deep experience defending employers in collective, class, and representative actions, including in “bet the business” cases, in transnational disputes, and in circumstances presenting novel legal issues of first impression, among other similar scenarios. He has shaped and executed successful trial strategies across a variety of settings, including complex litigation featuring unionized workforces as well as sensitive litigation implicating national security. Mr. Fisher has represented clients across a broad range of industries, such as 3PL, automotive, banking, construction, education, healthcare, hospitality, legal, manufacturing, non-profit, quick-serve food, retail, startup, security, technology, transportation, vintner, and others.

In addition, Mr. Fisher is involved in pro bono activities, including providing pro bono legal representation on behalf of child-advocacy causes and organizations.

Prior to O’Hagan Meyer, Mr. Fisher was a partner in one of the largest AmLaw Top 100 law firms, where he defended employers in wage-and-hour collective, class, and representative actions. Before then, he was an attorney at a top-tier international law firm in London, England.

During law school, Mr. Fisher was a visiting student at the T.M.C. Asser Institute in The Hague, The Netherlands, and then at Magdalen College, University of Oxford in Oxford, England. At Oxford, he received the highest distinction for his research regarding the legal immunities applicable to heads of state under public international law. Afterwards, Mr. Fisher interned with the legal team that secured a unanimous victory before the United States Supreme Court in Samantar v. Yousuf, 560 U.S. 305 (2010) (holding that an individual foreign official sued for conduct undertaken in his official capacity is not a “foreign state” entitled to immunity from suit under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act).

Among his other awards and honors, Mr. Fisher has been the recipient of the Antitrust Prize.

Mr. Fisher has also served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Jeffrey S. White of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco, California.

Beyond the law, Mr. Fisher enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons; CrossFit; and open-ocean swimming. Prior to law school, Mr. Fisher served in the United States Marine Corps. He is a veteran of the Iraq campaign.
